When was the last time you thought about a pothole?
Nobody likes them.
Yet, they grow — quietly, persistently — every time we pass over them and do nothing.
We complain for a moment, dodge them when we can, and forget them the second the road clears.
Until one day, the damage is undeniable.
The tire bursts. The wheel bends. The cost becomes unavoidable.
That’s how habits work, too.
The small, ignored cracks in our character, our discipline, our leadership — they start tiny.
Barely noticeable.
But with time and neglect, they deepen.
They spread.
And before long, they define the path itself.
Here’s the truth:
Potholes don’t fix themselves.
Neither do destructive habits, toxic attitudes, or cycles of procrastination.
So, what can you do?
💡 You have two choices:
- Avoid that path.
Drop the habit. Quit the pattern. Walk away from what keeps damaging your growth.
This takes awareness, honesty, and courage. - Repair the damage.
Face the issue. Replace the bad with better.
Build new habits with time, fortitude, discipline, and consistency.
Every pothole you ignore today becomes a crater tomorrow.
Every small compromise becomes a culture.
Every “it’s not that serious” becomes a “how did I get here?”
So ask yourself:
👉 What potholes are forming in your life, leadership, or relationships?
👉 Are you repairing them — or just driving over them again and again?
The road to growth doesn’t need to be perfect.
It just needs maintenance.
